All sessions are tailored to meet your goals and desires. First and foremost, I will listen to you! I’ll listen to your words and to the information your body is conveying through posture, ease, tension, pain and comfort. Starting with a postural assessment, I’ll incorporate a variety of methods to help you increase ease and comfort while decreasing pain and tension. While You may choose to work in a single modality (i.e. yoga, pilates, or resistance stretching), I most commonly mixes modalities based on what the client presents on any given day.
Sessions are offered in South Corvallis. For additional information please contact me directly to book a session. Sessions may be 55 minute or 85 minutes long. Fees are $60 to $80/hour sliding scale. Cash preferred. Trade and barter are welcome if financial resources are an obstacle.
If you would like a personalized home practice with video or photo documentation, that can be created for an additional fee.
Classes & Workshops
Yoga is awareness and attention. The yoga of the body that I teach might look like traditional poses and might look like nothing you’ve ever seen before. We practice movement with awareness and attention. The quality of attention (yours and mine) yields a unique practice that changes the body and brings calm to the mind and spirit.
At this time the only Corvallis classes with Eleanor are offered at Odd Fellows Hall. Check out Ecstatic Dance Corvallis calendar.
Gentle Yoga for Real People
May 31 to June 2, 2019
September 2-5, 2019
A yogic practice of breath, movement, insight and meditation to awaken our intuitive knowing and a resilience that arises from deep within. Our days begin with meditation, and include a 2-hour movement practice (yoga, pilates, resistance stretching and functional fitness), a philosophy discussion, and end with restorative yoga and yoga Nidra. You’ll have ample free time in the afternoons to soak, hike, and enjoy the beauty of Breitenbush. This yoga practice is easily adapted to all abilities: both the seasoned yogi and the injured will find challenge and support. We discover a way to walk hand-in-hand with pain and fear, and the courage to show up for life and the world.
Lisa Eleanor Wells, PhD, ERYT500, teaches yoga, body awareness, meditation, relaxation and trauma-release in Corvallis, OR. Lisa has been teaching yoga since 2000 and practicing since 1990. Teaching yoga is an art. Teaching yoga is a science. Teaching Yoga is a practice. Teaching yoga touches our souls. Teaching yoga touches the souls of others.
Eleanor is available for one-on-one teacher training. In this unique, but very traditional model of training, your unique strengths, assets, needs and desires are assessed to create an teacher training customized for you. We create a study plan together and then meet, in person or virtually, for 1 to 3 hours each week to discuss your studies and progress. Between our sessions you study, write short papers or use art or other means to synthesize what you have been learning. You develop classes and hone your teaching style with Eleanor’s guidance and experienced oversight. Eleanor will occasionally attend your public yoga classes and provide critical feedback to help you become the best teacher you are able to be. You will be required to record your own class, ‘take’ that class, and critique your own teaching. As a final project, you will design and teach a workshop under Eleanor's guidance.
This training can be done either as a local student or remotely.
For registration or questions contact Eleanor Wells.
